Families appeal for participation in Kameng blast victims' memorial

Imphal, November 07 2026: Families of the victims of the November 12, 1978 bomb blast at Seihi Chonthabi Nongchup Chingkhong, Kameng, Imphal West, have appealed to the public to join this year's floral tribute programme.

Speaking at a press meet at Manipur Press Club today, Phurailatpam Debeshor Shanna, on behalf of the victim families, said Phurailatpam Kavikanta Shanna of Sagolband Meino Leirak, Ayekpam Dhiren of Tera Loukrakpam Leirak, and Pukhrambam Gambhir of Singjamei Naorem Leikai died in the incident.

He said families have been holding the tribute at the memorial site every year.

With High Court permission, the public tribute will be held on November 12 this year.

He also appealed for support to develop the site as a tourist spot.
