Imphal, July 28 2015:
Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) on Tuesday said that the State Government has remained tight-lipped on the resolutions adopted by a recent public meeting held at Iboyaima Shanglen in Palace Compound.
The committee has also expressed "suspicion" on the Government's stance over passing an acceptable ILP Bill to safeguard the indigenous people of the State.
JCILPS stated that it doubted the Government will readily agree to incorporate the key five points in the proposed new ILP Bill.
The Government's gestures have indicated that it wants to sideline the ILP issue and urged the people to carry on the ongoing agitation until the demands are fulfilled.
However, the committee appealed the people to let doctors, nurses and paramedic staff, water suppliers and media to perform their duties during the course of the agitation.
JCILPS further appealed the people from all communities to join a peace rally to be organised by the committee in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
"We appeal to all student bodies, civil societies and other organizations to take part in the proposed ILP rally," the committee said.
