Imphal, July 28 2015:
Manipur People's Party (MPP) hit out at the State Government for its alleged inability to understand the sentiments of the people regarding ILP on Tuesday.
The party also expressed disappointment with the Government decision to make Revenue Minister Th Debendra of Jiri A/C, the Chairman of the ILP Bill Drafting Committee.
Addressing the media at MPP office, Party President N Sovakiran said, "The failure, mistake and inefficiencies of the Ibobi-led Congress Government have created a lot of problem in the State" .
The ministers are not performing their assigned duties and have failed to address the demands of the people, Sovakiran said and urged them to immediately fulfill the demands raised by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the brutal killing of Sapam Robinhood.
The JAC is demanding suspension of the police personnel involved in the killing of the student.
Sovakiran also commented that the numerous foreign jaunts of several ministers and MLAs were rendered meaningless as they failed to learn the good idea and strategies from the developed countries, but came back only after shopping sprees and tastes of foods, etc.
The MPP leader opined the decision of the Government to choose Law and Revenue Minister Th Debendra as Chairman of the Drafting Committee on ILP Bill was a bad decision.
He said that Gaikhangam was the Chairman of the Committee earlier, but now with the appointment of Revenue Minister Th Debendra as the Chairman, things are not looking hopeful at all for the Manipuri people.
He also alleged that the minister is known for his big role in bringing in large immigrants to Jiri and turning them into his vote-bank, Sovakiran claimed, adding MPP expected little from him as he is a pro-immigrant leader.
