The 38-hour bandh clamped by the JAC constituted against the death of Sapam Robinhood has severely affected normal life in the State today.
The bandh came into effect at 5 am today and will go on till 7 pm tomorrow.
The bandh was imposed against the State Government's failure to take action against the police personnel responsible for the student's death.
During the first day of the bandh today, bandh supporters blocked roads by placing boulders, tree branches and bamboos and burning tyres at different areas.
All the major roads leading to the State capital wore a deserted look as all the passenger and private vehicles were off the road.
