Imphal, March 27 2026: The College of Agriculture (COA), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal, successfully organiseda "Training cum Technology distribution of Vegetable crops and other inputs" programme on March 26 and 27, 2026, to popularize quality vegetable seeds and enhance farmer livelihoods.

The initiative aimed to increase the area under vegetable cultivation, boost production, and ensure nutritional security for local farmers.

The programme was conducted at two locations: COA, Iroisemba, and Chakpikarong in the Chandel district.

Led by Prof K Nandini Devi, Dean, COA, CAU, Imphal, and Dr Ps Mariam, Assistant Professor cum Nodal Officer, along with other faculty members, the programme saw the distribution of various vegetable seeds and other inputs to more than 100 farmers.

The event was sponsored by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research for NEH Component, Varanasi, UP.

Resource persons, including Prof Edwin Luikham, Prof Ng Piloo, Dr A Uchoi, Kholu Mary, and Tshewute Wezah, participated in the programme and shared their expertise with the attendees.
