Imphal, July 14 2024:
Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) assistant coordinator Joychandra Konthoujam has accused central security forces of being incompetent and cowardly in responding to armed attacks on security forces which claimed the life of a CRPF trooper.
Addressing the media at Jiribam Municipal Council guesthouse at Babupara, Joychandra said that after taking permission from the Jiribam DC and SP, a COCOMI team went to Borobekra relief camp on Sunday.
However, before they reached Borobekra, Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists attacked the joint ROP team of CRPF and state police, in which a CRPF jawan was killed and left two policemen injured.
COCOMI strongly condemns such attack and also shares the suffering of the victims, he said.
Maintaining that the crisis in the state is part of the cross border Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists' plan to create a separate nation, he said that large portion of the state are under the grip of the narco-terrorists.
Jiribam is one of the most important landmarks of the state, he said and called upon the indigenous people of the state to stand united for a united and strong Manipur.
He further said that the Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists have targeted not only the state forces but also central security forces.
However, central forces are doing nothing substantial against such provocation, he said while terming such impassivity as an act of cowardice.
COCOMI Women's Wing assistant coordinators W Luwangleima and RK Tharaksana also attended the press meet.
