Longjam Mangal to contest from Wangoi

Imphal, November 07 2026: Longjam Mangal has announced that he will contest the upcoming Manipur State Legislative Assembly election from Wangoi AC as a candidate of the Manipur People's Party.

Speaking at a press meet at his residence at Top Siphai on Saturday, Mangal said the lack of love and peaceful coexistence among communities in the State is due to the failure of the Centre and State Governments.

Mangal said MPP, the oldest regional party founded by forefathers with the idea of unity between hills and valley, needs to be strengthened.

He said the coming election will be a turning point to save or destroy Manipur, and appealed to the people to bring a regional party Government to restore peace and bring development.
