Charenamei vows to work for all-round development

Former MP and independent candidate of 16th Lok Sabha election in Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Mani Charenamei released his election manifesto during the flag hoisting ceremony held at his residence at Fairyland near Khuman Lampak here today.
His 35-point manifesto roughly covers all major issues of the State including the AFSPA and Indo-Myanmar border dispute.
On social issues, the former MP pledges to make efforts to usher in lasting peace in the Northeastern Region and work for the rights of SCs, STs and OBCs.
Dwelling on the political issues, Mani Charenamei assures that he would urge the Government of India to bring the ongoing political dialogues with the armed groups to logical conclusions, and strive to secure full autonomy for the tribal areas with constitutional safeguards (Article 371C) .

He would also urge the authorities concerned to increase the number of Lok Sabha and Assembly seats during the delimitation process.
This independent candidate further vows to support the mass movement for repeal of AFSPA, 1958 and protect the human rights of the people of Manipur.
He also promises to prevent the loss of State's boundary to Myanmar during border fencing.
Mani Charenamei further pledges to address unemployment problem in the State by generating more employment opportunities through promotion of trade and commerce.
He vows to promote border trade to explore huge potentials of the Look East Policy of the Indian Government, and uplift the economic condition of the State through eco-tourism, agriculture and other allied activities.
Moreover, Charenamei assures the voters to implement National Land Utilization Policy and provide all weather road connectivity to all villages along with helicopter service to all Hill District Headquarters linking with Imphal.
Establishment of more universities in the State, providing good healthcare services to all people and improving transport and communication facilities in the State are also among the 35 points of Mani Charenamei's election manifesto.
