'St Joseph's School, Sugnu to be upgraded'

With the objective to uplift the education system in the area, a joint meeting of civil society organization leaders and St Joseph';s Higher Secondary Development Committee was held at St Joseph's Parish hall, Sugnu last Saturday.
During the meeting, it was unanimously adopted to upgrade the St Joseph's High School to a Higher Secondary School level from the next academic session besides contributing voluntarily for construction of the school building.
While stressing on the importance of education, Rev Father Stephen, Parish Priest also maintained that opening of a Higher Secondary School in the area will benefit not only the Catholic faith but also all communities living in Sugnu area.
Catholic nuns and priests have sacrificed their lives only for the purpose of educating the common masses regardless of differences, he added.
ECI Superintendent Reverend Onthong, president of Anal Naga Chiefs' Association Chakpikarong Block Wl Wangngam, vice president of Gunpi Area Kuki Chiefs' Association Haokhothang Baite and special contractor Ibungo Singh also attended the meeting.
