IMC to provide loans to the unemployed

Imphal, June 14 2015 :
Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) is all prepared to provide loan amounting to Rs 2 lakh each to unemployed persons who want to take up any profitable business in the municipal area.
This was stated by IMC Executive Officer Ng Uttam at a function celebrating the completion of four years by the Ward Development Committee of IMC at the Kwakeithel Moirang Purel community hall.
The programme was organized by the Kwakeithel Moirang Purel Leikai Ward Development Committee.
Ng Uttam further disclosed that IMC will give free training to those who want to take up business with the loan obtained from the IMC.
He said the council is now ready to provide loan amounting to Rs two lakh each to individuals who want to take up any profitable business.
He also said a task force has been set up to ensure equitable benefits are given to all families below poverty line.
For the municipal area, the IMC is giving only Rs 4,000 to each family having latrines for maintenance of sanitation unlike the rural areas where low cost sanitary latrines are constructed free of cost.
Former minister L Jayentakumar and IMC chairperson Aribam Nimai were also present during the event.
