Senapati forms district monitoring committee to curb fuel hoarding, black marketing

Senapati, March 27 2026:
In amove at ensuring fair distribution of essential fuels and safeguarding consumer interests, the District Administration of Senapati has constituted a District Monitoring Committee to check fuelhoarding and blackmarketing in the district.
The committee has been formed following a directive from the Secretariat, CAF&PD, Government of Manipur.
It will focus on curbing illegal hoarding and black marketing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and other petroleum products across Senapati district.
The monitoring committee is headed by District Supply Officer B Ngouning Lawrence as chairman.
Others members include M Kaisungbou, MPS; Additional Superintendent of Police (NH-2): and CH Neli, SDC Senapati.
Under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, the committee has been entrusted with conducting regular inspections, including frequent and surprise checks within its jurisdiction.
It will identify and take action against illegal activities related to fuel distribution.
Additionally, the committee will ensure daily reporting of Action Taken Reports (ATR) to the Department of CAF&PD and the Ministry, Govt of India, while maintaining public accountability to promote transparency in the supply chain of petroleum products.
Consumers have been encouraged to report grievances, share information, or seek clarification regarding the availability and pricing of LPG and other petroleum products by contacting the committee members directly.
