Indian Army conducts medical camps in Bishnupur

Bishnupur, March 12 2026:
On the occasion of World Glaucoma Day, the Indian Army, under the aegis of the Red Shield Division of Spear Corps, conducted a series of medical camps in Bishnupur District, Manipur, on March 11 and 12, 2026, to provide essential healthcare services to residents of remote areas.
Indian Army in a release said that the medical camps were organised at Wangusabal and Hautak on March 11, followed by another camp at Siden on March 12 .
During the camps, the Regimental Medical Officer provided medical consultations, basic treatment and distributed essential medicines to the local residents.
The initiative witnessed an encouraging response, with more than 500 villagers from surrounding areas benefiting from the services.
Along with treatment, special emphasis was placed on spreading awareness about glaucoma and eye health, highlighting the importance of early detection and timely care.
The camps also encourage the local population to participate in an upcoming "Integrated Multi Speciality Medical Camp" scheduled to be organised soon at Ningthoukhong, Molphei Tampak, Sendra, Leisang, Sawongbung and YKPI which will offer expanded healthcare services to a larger section of the community.
Such initiatives reflect the Indian Army's continued commitment towards the health and well-being of the people of Manipur, while strengthening the bond of trust and cooperation with local communities, stated the Indian Army.
