Public meeting demands repair of Lamshang-Khurkhul road

Imphal, September 08 2026: A public meeting was held today at Ibudhou Koubru Laibung organised by Mayang Langj ing Ibudhou Koubru Committee to protest non-repair of Lamshang-Khurkhul road, the lifeline of Lamshang and Sekmai Assembly Constituencies in Imphal West.

The meeting resolved to form Lamshang to Khurkhul Road Construction Demand Committee to press for immediate repair of the road.

It resolved that if construction work is not started by September 20, an indefinite road blockade will be launched.

It also resolved to boycott all Government offices located along the roadside and to boycott MLAs of Lamshang and Sekmai.

The meeting was attended by former Pradhan of Mayang Langjing Gram Panchayat Khangembam Sanaton, Mayang Langjing Ibudhou Koubru Lai Committee president Thongam Thoiba, RUCO president Ningthoujam Rashantakumar, Phumlou Meira Paibi leader Nongthombam Ibemhal and Mayang Langjing Nupi Semgat Sagat Lup advisor Chongtham Keinahal, among others.
