Imphal, November 07 2026: Cancer Survivors of Manipur (CASOM) observed National Cancer Awareness Day at its office in Singjamei Yumnam Leikai on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, CASOM president Sagolshem Sangita said the programme aims to create awareness among cancer patients and the public on how to prevent cancer through healthy living, and to encourage early medical checkups for timely treatment.

She urged cancer patients not to lose hope or hide their illness.

She said the old belief that cancer means death must be discarded, and added that CASOM has been organising awareness programmes in different places to spread the message that every cancer is curable.

As part of the programme, five doctors conducted medical check-ups for cancer patients and others.

Experts and doctors also spoke on cancer and created awareness among the public.
