Kangpokpi District Administration launches new Public Parking Management System

Kangpokpi, November 20 2025: The District Administration, Kangpokpi, in association with the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), launched the Public Parking Management System at Kangpokpi Upper Bazar (Mission Road).

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by the Deputy Commissioner, Mahesh Chaudhari.

Speaking at the event, DC Mahesh Chaudhari highlighted the importance of implementing a dedicated parking system along National Highway-02 within the district.

He noted that this initiative had already been emphasized in his address during the 79th Independence Day celebration, reaffirming his commitment to establishing better management systems for the future.

He expressed hope that the pilot project would deliver positive results and could later be expanded to other areas such as Motbung, Saikul, and Sapormeina.

In collaboration with the CEO of SH-ADC, the DC conducted a joint inspection of the signboards and designated parking zones for public autos, buses, and private vehicles.

Under the new arrangement, parking slots for four-wheelers and two-wheelers will be placed on opposite sides of the road to streamline movement and ensure optimal use of available space.

The event was also attended by ADC N Shokhongam Baite, CEO, SH-ADC James Doujapao Haokip, AC to DC Lamminlal Simte, SDOs, DLOs, District Transport Officer (DRO), members of Kangpokpi Town Committee (KTC) , Kangpokpi Youth Union (KYU), among others.
