The Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) observed its 10th raising day at its General Headquarters, Battalion Headquarters and stations on March 11 .
A press release issued by MNPF secretary publicity Thomas Numai said that the function held at its General Headquarters was graced by chairman John Francis Kashung, secretary SP Kanmi Home and defence secretary Ahao Jajo as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
At the observance, John Francis thanked the Almighty for letting the outfit celebrate its raising day successfully while the gathering paid tributes to the party's flag and deceased members of the outfit.
John Francis also offered his salute to the people of Manipur and rebel groups in WESEA region.
Saying that the economy of Manipur has been captured by outsiders from top to bottom, the outfit chairman claimed that 80 per cent of National Highway construction work in Manipur is done by companies or agencies based in other States.
Further stating that 100 per cent of the NDP scheme for water supply which can be entrusted to local contractors are also executed by outside companies, he reiterated that the economy of Manipur has been captured by outsiders.
The indigenous people of Manipur might disappear if the State depends on India for almost everything, he said and appealed to all the indigenous folks to take a concrete decision to decide 'our own fate' .
"All rebel groups and CSOs must refrain from engaging in community based politics if we are to save Manipur," John Francis continued and alleged that India has been scheming to divide the people so as to fulfil their agenda.
He then appealed to all concerned to set a common goal and extend help to the freedom movement so as to regain the lost independence of Manipur.
