Imphal, August 08 2025: Relief Committee Manipur has appealed the relevant State authorities to ensure that the families of displaced folks remain together in relief camps or pre-fabricated houses.

A press release issued by Thoidingjam Bon Khurai, chief coordinator, Relief Committee Manipur, highlighted the hardships faced by IDPs whose families have been separated.

Saying that siblings, parents and children have been separated from each other by the Government in the process of accommodating them to relief camps, the Committee pointed out that as a result of this, the IDPs lack family support during times of illnesses and their familial bonds are slowly weakening.

Thus, the Committee has urged the State authorities to avoid dividing the displaced families and make sure that they are kept intact/whole.
