Two cadres of KCP (PWG) arrested; arms recovered

Imphal, April 05 2025: Security forces on Friday arrested two cadres of the proscribed group KCP (PWG), and also recovered several arms and ammunition from various areas during search operations.

According to Manipur Police Control Room, security forces arrested one KCP (PWG) cadre from Khongjom Khebaching area under Khongjom police station on Friday.

The arrested cadre has been identified as Ahongsangbam Naobi Singh (42) of Khongjom Khebaching.

Police said that he is involved in extortion activities in Khongjom area.

One M20 pistol with a magazine and two live rounds, one mobile phone, two SIM cards and one two-wheeler vehicle were seized from his possession.

In subsequent action, security forces arrested one more KCP (PWG) cadre from Khurai Kongpal Laishram Leikai, identified as Maibam Tomba Singh alias Loya (42) of Tentha Khunjao, Thoubal district, presently residing at Khurai Kongpal Laishram Leikai.

One 9mm pistol with a magazine and six live rounds, two mobile phones and two SIM cards were recovered from his possession by security forces.

Meanwhile, security forces on Friday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from Khamaral to Khamaral Mamang Ching area under Sekmai police station, which included one SLR with magazine, modified .303 rifle with magazine, two pistols with two magazines, two air guns, two 9mm pistol magazines, three 7.62 mm LMG magazines (one defective), one defective 9mm carbine magazine, two INSAS LMG magazines (one defective), six plates, three BP vests and other war-like stores.

Similarly, security forces on Friday found hidden arms and ammunition from Laisoi Ching area under Keibul Lamjao PS which comprised of one SLR rifle with empty magazine, one carbine machine gun with empty magazine, one .303 rifle with empty magazine, one double-barrel gun, eight 5.56 mm live rounds, 40 70 mm live rounds, one BP helmet, five soft nose tear gas shells, one tear smoke grenade, two No.80 grenades, two BP plates, two BP jackets and other warlike stores.
