AB-PMJAY enrollment drive intensified across Vangai range in Pherzawl

Pherzawl, November 20 2025: The District Administration of Pherzawl has intensified its ongoing enrolment efforts under the Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitra (PMAM) initiative of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), conducting a series of drives across the Vangai Range sub-division.

According to officials, the drive led by the District Coordinator (ISA) has reached multiple villages including Patpuihmun, Phulpui, Ngampabung, Thingkal, Kangreng, Kh.

Jaikhan, Lower Kharkhuplien and Sartuinek.

The administration reported significant progress with 50 new members enrolled, alongside 4 CMHT registrations, 7 Aadhaar linkages, 308 redo-eKYC updates, 44 SECC entries, 13 senior citizen registrations, and 2 AWW-AWH updates.

The District Administration noted that the initiative aims to strengthen access to healthcare schemes and ensure that eligible families in remote areas are fully included.

The enrolLment drive is expected to continue in the coming days as teams move to the remaining villages within the sub-division.

In a separate development, the Deputy Commissioner of Pherzawl issued a circular on Thursday clarifying the legally permissible use of Aadhaar numbers.

Quoting instructions from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the circular reaffirmed that Aadhaar may be used solely for establishing the identity of the holder through authentication or offline verification, and cannot be treated as proof of citizenship, domicile or date of birth.
