NYKS to conduct 7-day disaster preparedness training in Chandel

Imphal, August 08 2025: Mera Yuva Bharat (formally known as NYKS) an autonomous body of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has announced a 7-day training programme on Disaster Preparedness for the youth of Chandel district.

The initiative is being organised in collaboration with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).

The program aims to equip young individuals with essential skills to respond to disasters and support their communities during rescue and relief operations.

According to a notification issued by W Paulina Monsang, Deputy Director, Addl Charge Mera Yuva Bharat Chandel, participants who completed the training will receive an Emergency Responder Kit (ERK) and a certificate.

Additionally, boarding, lodging and travel allowances (T/A) will be provided.

Youths aged 15 to 30 years who have passed at least Class VII are eligible to apply.

Interested candidates can collect the prescribed forms from the MYB Office and must submit by August 20, 2025, the notification said.
