Protest staged over deplorable road condition

Thoubal, April 04 2025: Irked over the pathetic road condition of Charangpat inter village road under Wangkhem Assembly constituency, womenfolk of Charangpat Apunba Meira Paibi and UCM Charangpat Unit blocked the road stretch today.

The protesters highlighted the inconveniences faced by the students and the public due to the deteriorating road conditions Speaking at the sideline of the protest, a member of Apunba Meira Paibi, Manglembi stated that the road stretch which is included in the work order under PMGSY scheme during the previous government is left unattended due to non inclusion in the ten-der.

Stating that the road stretch is a lifeline for neighbouring villages like Pengi, Echam Khunou, Lourembam, Nongpok, Sekmai and Lanmeithet, she urged the authorities concerned to immediately repair the deplorable road condition of inter-village road stretch of Charangpat.
