Seminar on UDID registration and inclusive rehabilitation held in Tengnoupal

A one-day sensitization seminar on "Unique Disability ID (UDID) Registration and Inclusive Rehabilitation Services" was held on Thursday at Aimol Tampak Community Hall.
The programme was organised by the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRCSRE), Guwahati, under the initiative of SVNIRTAR, Cuttack, Odisha, Dept of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India.
The seminar witnessed participation from a large number of villagers from Aimol villages in Tengnoupal district.
During the programme, Director of CRCSRE Guwahati, Dr Lanu Wanboy Aimol, delivered detailed insights on the UDID schemes and its benefits; Kim Aimol, who spoke on the step-by-step process of UDID Registration; Saka elaborated on inclusive rehabilitation services for PwDs; and Prasandi AP, who highlighted the role of teachers, parents and grassroot workers in supporting PwDs as resource persons.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Lanu Wanboy Aimol pointed out that although there are many persons with disabilities in the State, only a limited number possess UDID cards.
As a result, many eligible beneficiaries are unable to avail themselves of various schemes and policies provided by the Government of India.
He further noted that such sensitisation programmes are being organised to raise awareness and facilitate greater access to government benefits among persons with disabilities.
