CJ Krishna visits Kakching DCC; assures court functioning

Kakching, April 05 2025: High Court of Manipur Chief Justice D Krishna Kumar accompanied by Justice A Bimol and Justice A Guneshwar Sharma on Saturday visited District Court Complex (DCC), Kakching located at Kakching Chumnang Leikai Machin Manao Chinglak.

During the visit, the High Court of Manipur team informed that the DCC, Kakching, which was inaugurated on March 23 virtually by Supreme Court of India Judge Justice Vikram Nath, will formally start functioning from April 16 .

Commissioner (law) Nungshitombi Athokpam; High Court of Manipur registrar (judicial) Kh Ajit, registrar (vigilance) Athokpam Shanta Devi, CPC (e-court) Subham Vashisht, Kakching deputy commissioner (DC) Rohit Anand, Thoubal DC Ahanthem Subhash, Kakching SP Priyadarshini Laishram, Thoubal Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) cum CJSD Dr Laishram Rina, Kakching Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Neera Sinam, Thoubal JMFC Kshetrimayum Maheta Devi, Kakching District Bar Association (KDBA) president Nongmaithem Madhu, KDBA and Thoubal District Bar Association members and Kakching CSOs were also present during the tour.

During the meeting held in connection to the visit, the HC team was pressed for starting the functioning of DCC, Kakching; fencing of the court complex and stationing of security along with placing of stamp vendor to counter black marketing of judicial stamp.

After the meeting, the HC team led by CJ D Krishna Kumar assured that the Kakching District Court will began operating from April 16, a temporary fencing for the court complex will soon be set up and BSF will be stationed at the complex for security.

The HC team also inspected District Court Complex, Thoubal on the sidelines of the sojourn to Kakching.
