Ruling MLAs meet Amit Shah

Imphal, September 14 2023:
A delegation of ruling MLAs called on union home minister Amit Shah and urged him to restore lasting peace in the state by ending the ethnic violence.
The delegation of ruling MLAs including Govindas Konthoujam, Th Satyabrata, Dr S Ranjan, L Susindro and Th Shyamkumar highlighted situation in the state and urged Amit Shah to take up firm measures to control the violence.
They also submitted resolutions adopted during a meeting held earlier in the morning.
However, what transpired in the meeting is not known.
Speaker Th Satyabrata chaired the meeting of the ruling MLAs at Manipur Bhavan, New Delhi.
The meeting resolved to request the Union government to take up immediate steps to bring about everlasting peace in Manipur; disarmament of illegal/unauthorised weapons from the entire state; re-opening of the National Highways; specific timeframe for implementation of the above points while demanding the union home minister to announce the same through the media at the earliest.
The MLAs also resolved that they will not return to Imphal Until their demands are addressed.
Those MLAs who attended the meeting held in the morning are L Rameshwor, Y Khemchand, Kh Joykisan, K Govindas, Th Shanti, H Dingo, S Kebi, S Kunjakeshwor, S Premchandra, Dr Usham Deben, L Susindro, Md Abdul Nasir, Kh Loken, S Nishikant, M Rameshwar, Dr S Ranjan, Th Arunkumar, Md Ashab Uddin, Kh Ibomcha, I Nalini, P Brojen, S Rajen, Th Radheshyam, RK Imo, Kh Raghumani, K Robindro, Dr Y Radheshyam, Th Basanta, Th Shyamkumar, Th Biswajit and Sheikh Noorul Hassan.
