Imphal, August 21 2025: The Irawat Celebration Committee (ICC) is set to kick off the month-long 129th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot on September 1 with a public gathering at Kumbi Keithel.

The month-long observance will conclude on September 30.According to a press release issued by M Joykumar Luwang, secretary, ICC Manipur, a meeting held at Irawat Bhavan on August 19 also resolved to conduct the month-long observation under the slogan "Let's stand together for a tranquil, peaceful and intact Manipur".

ICC has lined up related programs on September 11 at Keibi Mana Ching, September 13 at Imphal and others on September 15, September 21 and the main program on September 30 at Imphal, among others.

It has also made an appeal to organise similar functions across different districts and constituencies of the State.

It has further urged voluntary organisations and clubs to host memorial events and social service drives to commemorate the 129th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot.

Notably, the ICC was reformed with Dr M Nara as chairman, L Sotinkumar as the vice chairman and M Joykumar Luwang as secretary along with the constitution of a few sub-committees.
