Imphal, April 06 2025: Locals staged a sit-in protest at Khergao Junior High School ground condemning a gun attack on Kshetrigao GP Part-II Chairperson Azmal Khan yesterday night.

During the protest demonstration, the locals alleged that the attack on the Panchayat Chairperson was carried out by MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan, his younger brother and workers and security personnel.

Azmal Khan, who was present at the protest site, claimed, "Yesterday night, the MLA and around 200 people came to the MGNREGA work site at Khergao ground, and threatened not to take up any development work without his knowledge.

They fired several rounds of bullets causing panic among the members of the public".

Regarding the incident, a case has been filed with Porompat PS, he said.
