MDFM appeals for repair of 30 km road stretch

Imphal, September 30 2025: The Minorities Development Forum, Manipur (MDFM) has urged the State Government to repair the 30 km road stretch from Kasom Khullen to Trade Centre KaKa (K Ashang Khullen Aze) through the Asian Development Bank (ADB) or Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

According to a press release issued by Syed Hedayat Merai, chairman, MDFM, the 89 km long Yairipok to K Ashang Khullen Aze Road leads to Indo Myanmar border pillar no 92 .

The border area was also reportedly profiled to set up an Integrated Check Post (ICP) .

According to MDFM, the ADB only renovated the road till Kasom Khullen while leaving the remaining roughly 30 km unpaved.

MDFM has also urged the Government to ensure that the aforementioned ICP is set up at Trade Centre KaKa.
