Aribam Kumar, Khoi Sharma condoled

Condolences poured in from different quarters mourning the unfortunate demise of noted writer-translator and academician Aribam Kumar Sharma.
He breathed his last on January 28, 2025 .
The Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) has expressed profound sorrow and condolence over the untimely demise of Aribam Kumar Sharma.
Employees of MSKA led by Secretary Sunanda Thokchom observed two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The gathering also prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Moreover, The Cultural Forum Manipur also convened a condolence meeting at its office premises in Rupmahal Tank Complex to mourn the demise of Aribam Kumar Sharma.
The meeting was chaired by Prof Shantibala Devi, president of The Cultural Forum.
The meeting remembered the numerous contributions made by Aribam Kumar Sharma and shared the grief & pain of the bereaved families.
The gathering also observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Notably, Aribam Kumar Sharma served in many notable educational institutions namely, GP Women's College and DM College of Teacher Education.
He also served as Additional Director, Department of Education (University and Higher Education), Government of Manipur.
Beyond his professional career, he has been associated with multiple literary organisations including Sahitya Akademi, The Cultural Forum Manipur, and Writers' Forum, Imphal.
Some of his notable translated works include "Numitki Taretshuba Sagol" = Manipuri translation of Dr Bharati's novel Surajka Satvan Ghoda; "Sharatehandra: Mi Amasung Kalakar Ama Oina", translation of Subodh Chandra Sengupta's "Sharatehandra: Man and Artist" and his book on literary criticism "Sahitya".
Meanwhile, the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has also expressed profound sorrow and condolence over the demise of its member Samurailatpam Kumar, popularly known as Khoi Sharma.
Khoi Sharma passed away on January 29, 2025, due to an illness.
He was 74 .
Members of AMUCO shared the grief of the bereaved family and observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
