Thambal Marik College celebrates 45th foundation day

Bishnupur, September 28 2025: The 45th foundation day of Thambal Marik College, Oinam was celebrated today at its auditorium hall organised by the Thambal Marik College Oinam Employee Association.

The event was attended by Oinam AC MLA Irengbam Nalini Devi; principal of Thambal Marik College, Professor Kh Mohon Singh; founder principal of the Royal Academy of Law Oinam, I Jugeshwor Singh; and social worker Th Swarankumar as presidium members.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the Best Teacher Award, conferred upon Dr RK Romen, Head of the Physics Department of the College.

Retired teaching and nonteaching staff, along with donors and their family members who had contributed land and support to the college, were also honoured with mementos, Lengyan phee, and souvenirs in recognition of their contribution.

In his address, Principal of the College, Professor Kh Mohon Singh emphasized that the progress of the college, reflects the support of the local community.

He acknowledged the contributions of the late Yumnam Yaima, stating that the institution might not have been existed without his vision and efforts, and extended gratitude to all donors and well-wishers for their support.

Lamenting the present education system of Manipur, he urged educators of the State to work towards upliftment of the education sector with dedication and to promote more research-based initiatives for the benefit of students.
