Annual literary / freshers meet held

Thoubal, October 26 2026: The inaugural function of annual literary cum freshers meet of Ibemhal Vishal Academy, Khongjom Sapam was held today at the academy's campus under the theme "Onwards to Knowledge and Perfection" .

Ibemhal Vishal Academy is an educational higher secondary school affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) .

The programme was graced by COHSEM Secretary Kh Ashikumar Singh as the chief guest, Ibemhal Vishal Academy Principal Dr Khoisnam Ranjit Singh as the president and COHSEM Deputy Secretary N Shaheb as the guest of honour.

As a part of the programme, an exhibition was held showcasing arts and science models made by the students of the academy.

During the 30-day annual literary meet, competitions will be held on various activities including poetry recitation, extempore speech, monologue, dance, music and Thang-Ta among others.

The competitions will be held to work on personality development of students focusing on extra-curricular activities providing a platform to showcase their innate talents.

In today's programme, former students of the school who have cleared NEET-2026 were felicitated by presenting a cash award and traditional shawl to encourage them to strive for better.

Chingtham Debeshwori Devi of Tekcham Mayai Leikai who secured 114th rank and Soibam Nepolini Devi of Tekcham Laibung who secured 157th rank were feted.

Students of the academy who have achieved remarkable feats were also felicitated.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, COHSEM Secretary Kh Ashikumar Singh commended Ibemhal Vishal Academy for encouraging the students to showcase their talents by organising such extracurricular activities.

He also praised the students for developing the various arts and science models, stating that many models are associated with the curriculum of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 .

He further stressed on the various academic and corelated activities assigned in NEP 2020 for the welfare of the students.
