Full dress rehearsal for Republic Day parade held in Bishnupur and Thoubal

Bishnupur/Thoubal, January 23 2026: The District Administration, Bishnupur on Friday conducted the full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day Parade 2026 at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur, the venue where the Republic Day Celebration will be held on January 26, 2026 .

During the rehearsal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Toijam Opendro took the salute from the marching contingents.

He also appealed to the people of the district to turn up in large numbers to witness the Republic Day celebrations.

Altogether, 20 contingents took part in the full dress rehearsal, including contingents from the Civil Police, RAF, 08 CRPF, 2nd IRB, VDF, and Home Guards.

The marching contingents for the Republic Day Celebration will also include school students, Anganwadi Workers, ICDS Cell Bishnupur, District ASHA contingent, among others.

On the day of the celebration, Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur District, Pooja Elangbam, will attend the function as the chief guest and unfurl the National Flag, followed by taking the salute from the march past.

The Parade Commander for the Republic Day Celebration will be S Tryphena Reikhenamai, SDPO Bishnupur.

Meanwhile, the full dress rehearsal for the 77th Republic Day celebration was also held in Thoubal district on Friday, organised by the District Administration Thoubal.

The rehearsal took place at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School Ground.

The rehearsal was attended by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Yumnam Robita; Superintendent of Thoubal, Manjo Pravakar; Additional Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Aribam Amarjeet Sharma; SDO Thoubal; SDO Lilong; SDCs and other senior officials of the district administration and police department.
