Langban Heisoi Tamba Ritual observed at Lengondabi Pat to honour martyrs of Manipur

The Lengondabi Pat Protection and Development Society (LOPPDS), Cachar, Assam, in collaboration with Athoubasingee Liklam Thiba Lup, Manipur (ALTLM), jointly observed Langban Heisoi Tamba (Pitri Tarpan) ritual for the martyrs of Manipur at Lengondabi Paat, Cachar, Assam.
The event was attended by LOPPDS, Assam, president Konsam Biswajit Singha; Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker, Thokchom Satyabrata Singh; Cachar Zilla Parishad Chairman, Kankan Narayan Sikidar; ALTLM chief patron, RK Nongdren Khomba; ALTLM president, Nando Tekcham; ALTLM advisor, Laimayum Shantikumar Sharma; Manipuri Language Advisory Board member, Dr KN Chand; DIG PRov M&C Frontier BSF Silchar, Hidam Shubol Singh; and Kangabam Shantee Kumar Singh, Retd ACS Lakhipur, Cachar, as presidium members.

As part of the programme, the organisers honoured the dignitaries with traditional Nam-Phi (shawl), and later offered prayers and rituals at the Lengondabi Pat.
Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, who graced the event as chief guest was also honoured with a Kokjet (turban), Khutsu Thanglen (sword) and a memento.
Later, he also handed over a letter of recognition to the Committee, officially declaring Lengondabi Pat as a site of historical significance for Manipur, acknowledging it as an inheritance of the Meitei community.
