World Malaria Day 2025 observed at Keirak

World Malaria Day 2025 was observed on Wednesday at Keirak Mayai Leikai Panthoibi Shanglen, organised by the District Health Society in collaboration with NVBDCP, Kakching.
The programme held under the theme "Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite", was graced by Keirak GP Pradhan Elangbam Shanti Leima as chief guest; District Mission Director and Chief Medical Officer, Kakching, Dr Thaodem Rajen as functional president; and DPM, DHS Kakching O Pushpa; DPHNO Kakching S Hemabati, and Keirak United Development Organisation, president Leitanthem Chandrakumar as guests of honour.
In his keynote address, Malaria Technical Supervisor, DMO Kakching, K Okendrajit urged collective support to achieve the goal of eliminating malaria permanently from India by 2030 and from the State and every district of the State by 2027.Dr Thaodem Rajen, CMO Kakching, also appealed to the public to help eliminate mosquito breeding sites by keeping drains, bushes, and surrounding areas clean and by discarding stagnant water stored for long periods in homes.
The event also witnessed participation from ASHA and Anganwadi workers, staff of the Health Department, and Village Level Federations (VLFs) of Keirak GP .
