Security training concludes at Hotel Imphal

The closing ceremony of 2nd Batch Security Training organised by Homeland Group was held today at Hotel Imphal, North AOC.
It was graced by Joint Secretary (Home), Dr Mayengbam Veto; Homeland Group, director, RK Babloo; Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Chief Operating Officer, Khundrakpam Bobby; Central Agricultural University (CAU), AC, Ningthoujam Anilkumar and Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West, secretary, Dr Bankimchandra Thokchom as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Veto said that with the increasing number of industrial, institutional and business establishments in the State and as it is impossible to effectively provide security to all these establishments by the Police & other agencies of the Government, the need for private security is increasing day by day.
Highlighting the Private Security Agency Regulation Act (PSARA), 2005, which regulates private security agencies in India, he asserted that it is of paramount importance for all the private security agencies in the State to abide by the regulations & criteria enshrined in the PSARA Act.
Stating that over 25 private security agencies are registered in the State, the Joint Secretary cautioned that any private security agencies found in violation of the PSARA Act, 2005, will be liable for legal action including revoking of their license.
