Imphal, March 10 2025: A Memorandum of Technology License Agreement will be signed on March 12 for the production of lime-based energy drinks and gummies from Tamenglong orange, Ukhrul Kachai lemon and other citrus produce of the State.

The memorandum will be signed between between Dr Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur and K Debdutta, Director, Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Manipur and Chief Food Technologist, Magfruit at the Farmers' Training Hall of the Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation at Sanjenthong.

According to K Debdutta, this partnership will enable Magfruit to adopt and commercialize the innovative citrus-based products developed by ICAR-CCRI, ensuring wider availability.

By adding value to acid lime cultivation, this initiative will benefit farmers, entrepreneurs, and the food processing industry, creating new livelihood opportunities, he maintained.

He also pointed out that the agreement highlights the importance of collaboration between research institutions and industry stakeholders to drive innovation, sustainability, and economic progress.
