The closing function of the silver jubilee celebration of St Anthony School, Sangakpham was held at the school hall today.
Director of RMSA, SSA and Secretary to Chief Minister Sumant Singh, IAS and chairman of St Anthony Educational Society, Thaithuilung Pamei, IAS graced the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Apart from march past parade and Bhatatyam presentation, the students of the school presented songs and dances at the occasion.
Actor-singer Hamom Sadananda also presented a song 'We shall overcome' much to the delight of the students.

Speaking as chief guest of the function, Sumant Singh observed that the standard of education in Manipur is very high.
However, although the enrolment of students in private schools is around 80 percent, it has been coming down in Government schools.
He further pointed out that in order to provide better education to the children.
we need to respect their rights to education.
He also informed that out of the 53 trafficked children who were rescued from South India, 25 of them have been enroled in schools for education.
In his presidential address, Thaithuilung Pamei noted that understanding and co-operation among the parents, teachers and school authority is very important for securing the future of the students.
