College Week celebration begins

Imphal, January 29 2025: The 1st College Week Celebration 2025 of DM Community College/DDU- Kaushal Kendra, DM College of Science, Dhanamanjuri University was inaugurated today with great enthusiasm and fervor at the playground of DM College of Science, Imphal.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including Dr Elengbam Jadu, former Principal, DM College of Science; Prof L Hemchandra Singh, Director, DM Community College/DDU-Kaushal Kendra; Prof M Bhubaneshwari Devi, Principal, DM College of Science; Ch Bijoy Singh, Department of Physics, DM College of Science; Prof RK Chandrakumar, Department of Physical Education & Sports Science, DM College of Science and Prof RK London Singh, Head, Department of Chemistry, DM University.

The College Week celebration began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and hoisting of flag by Dr Eangbam Jadu.

Addressing the gathering, Prof L Hemchandra Singh said that it is the first College Week celebration of DM Community College which was established on June 13, 2014 .

"Over the years, students have been urging to organise college week & cultural programmes but due to the outbreak of Covid pandemic and ethnic conflict which began on May 3, 2023, we were not able to organise the College Week celebration for so long", he added.

He also highlighted the significance of College Week as an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in various fields, including sports, cultural activities, and academic competitions.

Prof L Hemchandra also shared that the College Week celebration will conclude on February 2 with a closing ceremony and prize distribution for the winners of the various events.

Releasing a souvenir, march past competition and exhibition football match were the main highlights of the event.
