Voluntary blood donation camps held

The Regional Baha'i Council of Manipur & Mizoram organised its '24th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp' on Sunday at the premises of the Blood Bank, IHBT, RIMS, Imphal.
In a release, Regional Baha'i Council of Manipur & Mizoram informed that the camp was organised as part of Council's initiative in contributing to the process of 'Building a prosperous Community'.
Altogether, 24 donors Irom various places like Sugnu, Terakhong, Kumbi, Langathel, Khangabok, Kakching, Sunusiphai, Thoubal, Heikak Mapal, Laipham Khunou, New Checkon, Kwakeithel, Yaiskul, Kongba, Andro, etc voluntarily and generously donated their blood for a common cause of saving lives of those who need them, irrespective of their ethnic, caste, creed or religious background.
The Council expressed its gratitude to the donors, Blood Bank staff, media fraternity and public for the cooperation and support to this noble act of service in the spirit of 'Sacrifice and Generous Living' .
Similarly, Life Savers Manipur, DFO, Imphal West, Lamdeng Apunba Naharol.
Pioneer Club, Lamdeng Makha Leikai and Mateng Pangshi Group jointly organised a voluntary blood donation camp at RDO Nursing College in Lamdeng on Saturday.
The camp was conducted in collaboration with State Blood Cell, SMS, NHM Manipur, SBTC Manipur, HDFC Bank and Shija Blood Centre, Langol.
The event also marked the 80th blood donation by one Khundrakpam Premjit.
Later, tree saplings were also planted in the surrounding areas of Pioneer Club's playground in Lamdeng Makha Leikai.
Sadar West Forest Range Officer, Kiranjit Yumnam; RDO Nursing College, Principal, Soibam ongbi Kumari; Lamdeng Makha Leikai Women Development Association, secretary, Chingabam Kamla and Chingabam Kameshore of Lamdeng Lai Khurembi Committee also attended the event.
