Career guidance seminar, workshop held

Imphal, August 08 2025: A 1-day workshop on "Development Leadership Skills and Discipline" was held today at the central hall of GP Women's College, Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal.

The workshop was organised by the Department of English, GP Women's College in collaboration with 65 (M) Girls Battalion NCC.

The workshop was graced by dignitaries, including Prof L Rajen Singh, Principal, GP Women's College; Colonel Patma Kumar, Commanding Officer, 65 (M) Girls Battalion NCC; and Dr Sobhana Laishram, Head, Department of English, GP Women's College.

At the event, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of soft skills and discipline for a student's overall development and future success of students.

They asserted that soft skills, like communication and teamwork, enable academic and professional growth, while discipline fosters effective time management, goal setting, and self-motivation.

Meanwhile, a 1-day seminar on "Career Guidance for Diploma Engineering Students in PSU/PSE" was successfully conducted today at the seminar hall of the Indian Institution of Engineers (India), Manipur State Centre, Government Polytechnic Campus, Takyel, Imphal.

The seminar was organised by IEI Manipur State Centre in collaboration with Government Polytechnic College Imphal, with the aim to help diploma holders better understand the career opportunities available in the public sector and equip them with knowledge & confidence to pursue such careers.

It was attended by Loktongbam Swamikanta Singh, chairman, IEI Manipur State Centre; Th Subhaschandra Singh, secretary, IEI Manipur State Centre; Likmabam Shamungou Singh, Principal, Government Polytechnic College; Rameshwar Meetei Athokpam, SG Lecturer, Government Polytechnic College; and Laimayum Amarjit Sharma, retired General Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited as presidium members.
