Yogasana Championship medallists felicitated

Kangleilel Yoga Training and Research Centre, Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai on Saturday felicitated players who won medals at the 10th World Yogasana Championship held at Hanoi, Vietnam from March 27 to 29 and the 36th National Yogasana Championship held at Midnapore, West Bengal in January.
A 13-member team led by Potsangbam Arunkumar as chief coach competed in the world championship, with six players - Wahengbam Priyokumar, Ningthoujam Jit, AK Bedashas-tri, M Nipamacha, Konjengbam Leimatombi and Pukhrambam Sheityabati - winning gold medals, while Renubala and Ksh Sobharani bagged one silver medal each, and Dr Gunadhar Singh Okram and Soibam Mema Devi one bronze medal each.

Speaking at the programme, Kangleilel Yoga Training and Research Centre president P Arunkumar stated that out of 41 players who participated in the 36th National Yogasana Championship at Midnapore, West Bengal, 30 players won medals, of which 10 were selected for participation in the 10th World Yogasana Championship.
Stating that the Centre has produced a number of yogasana players and will continue to do so in the future, he appealed to the public to practise yoga and reap its health benefits.
The programme was attended by Manipur State Yoga Association general secretary Dr N Ibohal Singh, president Laishram Ibopishak Singh, Manipur International University (MIU) head of Yoga department Dr Kh Mukta, AYUSH pharmacist Naorem Sanayaima Singh, World Yogasana Championship team manager Dr L Shivananda Sharma, and MIU professor Dr Hijam David Singh as presidium members.
