Imphal, July 24 2015 :
The State Government held an emergency Cabinet meeting on Friday afternoon in which the Drafting Committee on ILP Bill also joined and detailed discussions were held on the possible steps that the Government may take up to handle the difficult situation arising out of the ILP issue.
The meeting held at the CM's Bungalow began from 4 and continued till 6.30 pm.
The meeting discussed the resolutions that were taken in the public meeting organized by the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) on Thursday and the five key points recommended by the JCILPS to be incorporated in the proposed new ILP Bill.

The meeting agreed to consider the demands of the people and the JCILPS, but it was observed that giving a written assurance to the committee will be problematic.
However, the Cabinet and the Drafting Committee appealed to the JCILPS to have trust in the efforts of the Government and to come to the negotiating table.
On the demand of suspending the police personnel held responsible for the killing of Sapam Robinhood, the meeting felt that those involved will be punished accordingly - most likely by placing them under suspension, to begin with.
JCILPS urges people to continue ILP movement .
Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has on Friday appealed the people to continue democratic agitation like sit-in, torch rally and formation of human chains until the conditions put before the Government by Thursday's public meeting organised by the committee are agreed and satisfied.
In a press statement the committee, which has been spearheading the ILP movement, said, "We should go on agitation until a positive response is given by the Government and we know that it's a debt we can never repay for what Sapam Robinhood had done for us," JCILPS said.
JCILPS said the political will, sincerity, stance and wisdom that the Government should possess for protecting the indigenous people will be clearly known soon by the people only after its response to the conditions put before it by the public meeting of July 23 .
Normal life paralysed .
Normal life in Manipur was affected by the 14-hour cease-work strike by transporter organizations.
Transporter bodies called the strike in support of the ongoing agitation under the banner of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) demanding ILP system in Manipur and justice to Sapam Robinhood.
The strike started from 4 am and concluded at 6 pm.
Bus, auto and truck services including inter-State and inter-district services in the State were suspended.
Khwairamband Keithel, Paona bazar, Thangal bazar and Singjamei Bazar remained closed for the day due to the strike.
