A meeting of the Council of Ministers has been called on Tuesday to discuss the current law and order situation in the State following violent protests in Churachandpur Town after the passing of three Bills by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31.The Bills were aimed at protecting the indigenous people of Manipur.
A reliable source informed Hueiyen Lanpao that the meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi from 9 am onwards.
It has also been reported that till now, no Civil Society Organisation or the Joint Action Committee (JAC) has come forward to suggest concrete measures for bringing about a solution to the ongoing unrest.

The source said the State Government was aware of the need to institute an inquiry against the Churachandpur killings and the incidents of torching the houses of legislators and a minister during the protests.
A decision may be taken on Wednesday's meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Meanwhile, the 60-hour Churachandpur District bandh called by Churachandpur JAC began Tuesday afternoon.
Vehicular movements were restricted.
Shops, business establishments and market remained closed while government offices were totally shut.
The JAC had already announced the exemption of media persons, electricity department, medical related activities and telecom services from the purview of the bandh.
The meeting of the JAC on Monday resolved not only to call the bandh but also to strengthen the demand on the resignation of the six MLAs from six assembly constituencies of the district by September 10.If the MLAs failed to resign within the stipulated deadline, the JAC had decided to place the MLAs under social boycott.
