WRITPLAT observes 2nd foundation day

The 2nd foundation day of Writers' Platform Manipur (WRITPLAT) was observed today at the Loktak Hall of Manipur Press Club.
The ceremony was accompanied by the release of Keisham Keshwarjit Singh's "If I were I" (anthology of English poetry), 2nd edition of Dr RK Nayansana Devi's "He Mei-Ishing-Nungshit (poetry collection) and Dr Kangabam Ingaremba's "Emana Kourakle" (poetry collection).
Additionally, the WRITPLAT Annual Literary Award was bestowed upon six literary works.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr Kangabam Ingaremba, general secretary, WRITPLAT said that the Platform was established by a group of like-minded people with the head office at Langdum in Imphal east He added that last year 8 donors stepped up to sponsor the WRITPLAT Annual Literary Awards but this year the number has been increased to 10.Other notable dignitaries present at the event include Dr RK Nayan Sana, chief patron and former chairperson, MSSWB; Yumnam Kumar, president, WRITPLAT; Heirom Dhamendra, Member, Bamon Kampu Zilla Parishad; Aribam Noutuneshwari Devi, retd District & Session Judge and Legal Advisor, WRITPLAT; Dr Thingbaijam Swarankumar, renowned lyricist, social worker and donor; Dr N Sanatomba Singh, Assistant Professor, Manipuri Department, MU and Dr Okram Ibudhou alias Leishemba, patron, WRITPLAT as presidium members.
During the event, Dr N Sanatomba Singh spoke on "International Mother Language Day" .
