29 BN BSF conducts civic action programmes

29 BN BSF under the aegis of Sector Headquarters BSF CI (Operations) Manipur organized Civic Action Programmes in the AOR of CI Post Damodar, Cl Post Maphou (East) and (West) and CI Post Moirangpurel on March 9 and 10 .
At CI Post Damodar, the programme was graced by Sonam Chhering Commandant 29 BN BSF, Village Chiefs along with Presidents of villages Leikoching, Oksu, Nangpok Kakching, Happy Land, Sopleng and Principal of Govt High School Leikoching, said a press note by 29 Bn BSF, Koirengei.
On March 10, 2023, the civic action programme was held at CI Post Maphou (East) and Maphou (West) and Moirangpurel at Tumukhong and Risophung villages.

The programme was graced by Dinesh Singh Rawat Deputy Inspector General Sector HQ CI (Ops) Manipur alongwith Sonam Chhering Commandant 29 BN BSF in the presence of Village Chiefs, Chairman, Pastors, Village Secretaries, staff of Tumukhong Primary School and members of different women societies from Villages of Maphou Kuki, Louphung, Nongdam Kuki, Nongdam Tangkhul, Thangjingpokpi, Tumukhong, Moirangpurel Part I & Part II, Rishophung, Leisiphong Lower and Upper Island, Molkon, Bonjang and Rishophung.
Various items like water storage tanks, HDPE pipes, solar lights, sports items, plastic chairs, portable toilets, stationery items, school benches and dustbins were distributed for common use of villagers and school children.
Anti-drug pamphlets were also distributed to raise awareness among the villagers about the adverse impact of drugs.
Dinesh Singh Rawat DIG Sector Headquarters Cl (Ops) Manipur interacted with village members and motivated and appealed to them not to use drugs, not to engage in poppy cultivation and to find out an alternative way for living.
He further stressed on the need of planting trees for a greener and cleaner environment rather than burning forest for temporary gains.
