Governor reviews NSU project in Koutruk

Imphal, April 05 2025: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Saturday visited the National Sports University (NSU) campus at Koutruk, Imphal West, to assess the progress of the ongoing construction work.

During the visit, the Governor conducted a thorough inspection of the infrastructure under development and chaired a high-level meeting to review critical challenges facing the project, including power supply, water access, land acquisition, and road connectivity.

Officials from NBCC (India) Limited, the executing agency, presented a detailed report on the status of construction, including project's timelines, upcoming phases, and future expansion plans.

The meeting was attended by senior officials including the joint secretary from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the secretary to the Governor, the vice-chancellor of NSU, as well as commissioners, secretaries, deputy commissioner of Imphal West, and other stakeholders associated with the project.

Governor Bhalla then directed all stakeholders involved in the construction of the University to ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated deadline.

Later in the day, the Governor engaged in an interactive session with NSU students, discussing academic, infrastructural, and career-related matters in an open forum.

As part of his visit, the Governor also participated in the nationwide 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative - launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi - by planting a Kusum tree on the university campus.
