Imphal, October 03 2024: Denouncing the gun attack by unknown miscreants at the residence of Late RK Shitaljit Singh in Keishamthong Top Leirak, Meira Paibis of the area today staged a sit-in protest at Keishamthong Top Leirak.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Keishamthong Top Leirak Meira Paibi secretary Khoisnam Sameshwari Devi said that armed miscreants fired some rounds towards the residence of Late RK Shitaljit on the night of September 28 .

She said that the sit-in protest was jointly organised by the Meira Paibis of Keishamthong Top Leirak and Keishamthong Hodam Leirak.

She strongly condemned the gun attack carried out in a residential area and urged all to refrain from creating an atmosphere of fear during this difficult time.

Sameshwari further appealed to all concerned to step forward & issue a clarification at the earliest and not to repeat such acts in the future.

At the sit-in, the protestors displayed placards with slogans such as, "We condemn gun attacks in residential areas", "Bullets are meant to protect people not to give fear", etc.
