DC Jiribam inspects JT road construction works

Jiribam, February 28 2025:
Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, IAS inspected the whole stretch of the ongoing construction of Jiri-Tipaimukh (JT) Road from 0 (zero) km till 32 km (from Jiribam till Choudhurikhal, Borobekra) on Thursday.
He was accompanied by CO 156 Bn CRPF Omkar Nath, CO 20 Dett Bn CRPF Haopou Karowng, CO 38 Assam Rifles, Prashant Chanduwat, SDO Jiribam and Borobekra Laishram Roshan, DGM MSPDCL Birjeet Longjam, SDC/Branch Officer, Sorokhaibam Sitaranjit, officials of PWD among others.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the progress and quality control maintained by the construction company as per guidelines and DPR.
The DC expressed dissatisfaction over the progress of the ongoing work and instructed PWD and the construction company to expedite the work so as to complete before the advent of the rainy season.
Apart from this, he also checked the quality of roads constructed under PMGSY under RD & PR, Jiribam.
Besides, he also inspected various developmental works and important bailey bridges located in the district.
Krishna Kumar also visited Borobrekra Hr Secondary School, Netaji Govt High School, Jakuradhor and Bhutangkhal Govt Upper Primary School and inspected the conditions of school, staff strength and various facilities provided by the Govt.He further enquired about the Mid-day meal implementation in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner found that most schools face the common problem of inadequate teachers and staff strength.
During the visit, SDO Jiribam and Borobekra Laishram Roshan and SDC Sorokhaibam Sitaranjit interacted with various IDPs residing in the Borobekra Relief Camp opened in the premises of Borobekra Police Station.
