Farmers told to apply online for compensation

Imphal, April 10 2025: Bishnupur deputy commissioner Lourembam Bikram has informed all the 1424 farmers of Bishnupur district, who had applied after the last date of September 6, 2023, seeking compensation over inability to cultivate Kharif paddy for the year 2023 due to the ongoing crisis in the state, to submit their application online by visiting the website https://farmer-compensation.in using smart phone or computer through the OTP sent to their mobile number registered/linked with their Aadhaar number In a notice issued on April 3, the Bishnupur DC notified that after submitting their required details in the system, the farmer must also upload either photos of their affected areas (if available/accessible) or Google map photo (if the area is inaccessible).

At any point of time after submission of the application, the farmer will be able to know the status of their application on the website.

The SDOs concerned in coordination with Bishnupur district agriculture officer (DAO) shall verify the application using the .kmz file available with the DAO including geo tagged/drone photos and ensure that only genuine affected farmers are approved, it said.

The notice also said that the last date for submission of application online is May 31.Document required for the application are Aadhaar Card, bank passbook, land documents (patta in case of surveyed land or DC issued land documents in case of un-surveyed land/khas land) and Tenant Certificate (in case of tenant).

After online submission, the applicants shall submit a copy of the acknowledgement receipt at the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur indicating that the application is for compensation for Kharif Paddy 2023 .
