Children adventure camp concluded at Lamdan

Imphal, June 30 2014:
The four day long 3rd Children Adventure Camp which was jointly organised by Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) and the 27 Sector Assam Rifles at Manipur Mountaineering Institute Complex located at Lamdan concluded today.
The adventure camp was participated by 30 students between the age group of 10 to 14 years of both girls and boys.
Addressing the concluding function as chief guest, the Governor of the State, V K Duggal said that he is happy in knowing that MMTA has been conducting various courses of leadership and adventure camps from time to time.
He further said that adventure sport greatly helps the youths in understanding the nature and its phenomenon and also stressed the importance of conserving hill and forest which are co-related with nature.
The Governor then expressed that knowledge on environment should be imparted to the children so as to protect the environment.
He further asserted that such adventure camp will surely help the children in making independent decision.
During the function, the best camper for girls was conferred to Parminder of 35 AR while Tejas Singh Arora of 25 AR got the best camper for boys.
