FEADO observes 129th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat

Bishnupur, September 28 2025: The 129th birth anniversary of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat was observed today at Nachou Panthong Ward No 6 Community Hall, organised by the Federal Educational Athletic Development Organisation (FEADO) .

The programme commenced with floral tributes to the lifesize portrait of Irawat and was attended by MLA of Bishnupur AC, Govindas Konthoujam; president of FEADO Club, Nongmaithem Jiten Singh; Retd Headmaster of Ningthoukhong High School and National Awardee, Asem Ibobi Singh; former Nachou Zilla Parishad member Thiyam Dilip; former chairperson Administrative Committee Nachou Zilla Parishad, Laishram Menjor; former Pradhan Nachou GP N Jadu Singh; ex-Pradhan Nachou GP, N Ranjit Singh; former Pradhan Nachou GP, Nongmaithem Lairen Devi; president MPAL Bishnupur, N Thaballeima Devi and other eminent personalities as presidium members.

Speaking at the occasion, MLA Govindas Konthoujam called upon the youth of the State to emulate the ideals of Lamyanba Irawat and strive to build a society based on equality justice, and collective progress.

He emphasised that Irawat's lifelong struggle for workers, peasants, and the downtrodden remains a guiding force in Manipur's path toward inclusive development.

As part of the celebration, a poetry recitation competition for students was also organised in two categories, where the winners along with 126 meritorious students of Nachou and Nachou Wangma were also felicitated with certificates and memento.
